Udacity Edtech For Africans

YOU-DACITY- a brand focussed on YOU!!!

Udacity is embracing the rich tapestry of African culture, diversity, and innovation in its brand refresh to cater to the continent's vibrant and eager learners. With a deep commitment to revolutionizing online education, Udacity provides interactive, dynamic, and culturally relevant courses tailored to the diverse interests and needs of African students, educators, and lifelong learners.

My Approach to this design refresh is to represent the brand as a brand that blends cultural authenticity, localized content, community engagement, accessibility, and empowerment at its core thereby positioning Udacity as a leading force in reshaping online learning for the African market.

When you take a look at the number "6" from two different directions, you see "6" and you also see "9", its all about perspectives right?

The approach I used for this brand refresh is simply... Take a look at Udacity from any side, YOU WILL SEE "U".

You will see a brand with opportunities for you irrespective of age, discipline etc.

Gill Sans is a human-centered font that has been hailed to perform well digitally, in prints and for all age groups.

Additionally, It gives off a bold, ambitious, and daring look.

African art and culture celebrate a profound love for patterns adorned with bold and endearing colors, a vibrant testament to the continent's rich heritage.

From the intricate bold and geometric in patterns in Ankara clothing in Nigeria to the dazzling hues woven into Maasai beadwork, these patterns encapsulate stories, traditions, and unity within African communities. Whether in the rhythmic swirls of mud cloth or the symmetrical beauty of Ndebele designs, these bold and captivating patterns not only adorn textiles and artifacts but also serve as a visual language that transcends boundaries, celebrating the depth of African love, unity, and cultural identity.

The pattern choice for Udacity is afro-centric, a pattern that is easily recognizable and aesthetically pleasing. This would come to life in merchandise and gift items for the brand.
